Types of Online Dangers

1. Fake Giveaways

Fake Giveaways are a type of Scam, where they pretend to offer something for free, in return to either steal credit card info or download a virus. Like a "Free Robux Giveaway"

How do we avoid it? It's easy. Most fake giveaways usually come from unexpected sources & they are way too good to be true. You would easily spot such.

2. Phishing

Phishing is a type of Scam, where they pretend to be a trusted website or company, & ask for sensitive info like login credentials or Credit Card Info.

How do we avoid it? Double check your links. Websites like Gmail, Facebook, etc. will never ask you for your password or account information. Also, avoid clicking any links that seem suspicious or off.

3. Malicious ADs

Malicious Ads (or Advertisements) is when you go to a website that contains bad ads that download trojans, malware, etc.

How do we avoid it? Have an AD blocker in case but even if the Ads somehow install malware, antiviruses usually delete the malware before it runs.

4. Fake Downloads

This is a type of malicious advertisement, Fake downloads usually appear in downloading websites pretending to the download button of the host website.

How do we avoid it? AD blockers also usually block these fake downloads and theres a small "Advertisement" text below them to tell.

5. Doxxing

This is a type of phishing, Doxxing is when a stranger tries to get the location, IP address, etc. by sending a "grabber link" or using a program to spy

How do we avoid it? Similar to how to avoid phishing, you have to be careful on what you click & if the link is safe

6. Password Scams

This is also a type of phishing, Password Scams is when a Scammer requests your password for something they wish to give. This is one of the easiest to avoid.

How do we avoid it? NEVER give away your password even if the scammer offers something, this can really get your account in danger
